Fault Proxies and Diagnosis
HAI-CPPS v2.2 generates one enabled fault proxy in one module per fault recording. Each proxy is released in two variants: persistent, active from time 2,500 through the recording end, and temporary, active from time 2,500 to 7,500. Both are paired with a seed-42 healthy test control. The exact event-boundary sample can be pre-event or post-event; technical_timing.json records the timing policy and observed paired differences.
Fault metadata in fault_events.json identifies the target module, mechanism, and window. It is an offline label, not a measurement input. The supported proxies depend on module type:
Mixer:
anom_leaking,anom_valve_in0,anom_valve_in1,anom_valve_in2,anom_pump50,anom_pump75.Filter:
anom_leaking,anom_valve_in0,anom_pump50,anom_pump75,anom_pollution.Distill:
anom_leaking,anom_valve_in0,anom_pump50,anom_pump75,anom_heat50,anom_heat75.Bottling:
anom_leaking,anom_valve_in0,anom_pump50,anom_pump75.
The configuration may select only a subset of a module’s supported proxies for a topology’s campaign. Only one of the 50% and 75% pump or heater variants is active in any recording.
Leak
anom_leaking opens an artificial leak path, diverting material from the process. The distill leak uses a short smooth ramp after onset; other configured leak interventions use a step. Observable consequences can include changed levels, pressures, and flows, depending on the topology.
Filter pollution
anom_pollution increases the filter pollution factor and changes its effective flow restriction. It applies only to the filter module.
Reduced pump performance
anom_pump75 and anom_pump50 scale requested pump speed to 75% or 50% before noise and lag. They do not directly modify the nominal controller command stored in commands.parquet.
Inlet valve cannot close
anom_valve_in0 (and in1 or in2 in the mixer) imposes a 20% minimum opening while the controller requests closure. This can admit unintended inflow.
Reduced heater performance
anom_heat75 and anom_heat50 scale the distill heater’s prescribed heat input to 75% or 50%. They apply only to the distill module.
